30 May, 2007

Books for young readers at West End, Fairfield and Annerley Libraries are up for grabs in Council’s Gold Star Reading Club, local Councillor Helen Abrahams said.

“It is easy to join the Gold Star Reading Club and have the chance of winning a prize each month until August,” Cr Abrahams said.

“For students in Dutton Park Ward, it is simply a matter of going to a Council Library in West End, Fairfield or Annerley and getting a Gold Star Reading Passport.

“After the student reads and returns the book, they will get a Gold Star for their Passport – the winner is the student with the most stars,” she said.

“I would be delighted to present a booksGold Star Winners from Dutton Park Ward, and to their schools.

“The Reading Club is a great way to encourage young people to read and to use Council’s libraries.

“I would encourage all of our students to discover pleasure of reading and the wonderful stories our books contain.”
