This year I returned to the same location where Kingfisher Creek leaves the drain in East Brisbane and becomes a creek. There is always litter at this location. This year 17 people collected approximately 20 bags of rubbish with most of it collected in one hour.
There is plenty of space for a stormwater quality improvement device (SQID) to be installed with good vehicle access to assist with maintenance. It should be a priority of the Norman Creek Catchment Plan. Several volunteers kept working and were so disappointed when the tide changed and even more litter was seen coming into the creek.
